This etogal_editfields1.2 has been superseded by EtogalExtenderSuitV1. It does all this, is automated, creates a separate table to etogal, and automatically displays the info beside the intended picture....

V1.3 Fixed the addslashes problem, extended the forms to include drop-down infomation form, now with 9 additional columns in the standard chunk. Chunk now embedded by default, no need to create a separate file to the snippet (but you can if you want). This is still NOT an AUTOMATED process, you must have a good idea of what you are doing. the etogal management module is coming, so if your not sure, your better off waiting. Of course, if you need help, just use the forum. See in action here (no you can't save to my database, it has been disabled) but you can have a play.

V 1.2 changed typos in chunk section of snippet, labled "open etogal gallery" link.
This snippet lets you add and allows you edit existing and additional fields for a table. It was designed to work with etogal. BE WARNED: This snippet requires that you ADD FIELDS MANUALLY to etogal so if you aren't familiar with PHPMyAdmin or SQL, don't bother yet (Automatically created separate from etogal table snippet coming, don't hold your breath).

This snippet requires that you have etogal installed, the table populated.
Steps:
1) Download the snippet, copy paste and save the chunk at the top of the snippet (call it etogal_editfields) or just use the embedded chunk (you don't have to do anything in this case).
2) Copy paste and save the snippet as a new snippet (call it whatever you want).
3) Using PHPMyAdmin add 3 (or more if you want to add to the snippet and chunk) new fields. (I set them to varchar, length=20, default=name).
4) Either call the new fields "name1, name2, name3", or whatever you want and change the chunk names
to the names you have chosen.
5) Place in a new page, make sure it is published and if you want it secure, MAKE SURE YOU SET IT TO BE AUTHENTICATED!
6) add the prefix "frm_" at the beginning of each field as per the snippet instructions on screen when you view the page.

This snippet prefetches form data and enters it into the form, so you can view what is there before you change it.

This is intended as a management panel for etogal addon (and existing) text fields. It also includes a link that opens the current pic's etogal gallery in a new page so uploading and editing and deleting can be done easily.

You can also enter/ edit the etogal title and description fields with this snippet.
