Hi rad14701, I've just visited your site and I am :o . Anyways, here goes my question: why a page which validates xhtml 1.0 before using the GuestBook snippet, doesn't validate after including it? Apparently there should be no reason, the page where you keep your guestbook on your site does validate! I'm puzzled: the fact that all pages generated by Epitomie used valid code was one of the reasons (certainly not the only) why I chose Etomite as my CMS (which was exactly yesterday, so please excuse my blissful ignorance if there's a simple way to sort it all out) :)
Thanks.

Sorry, I shouldn't have started an new topic, I actually meant to add this within the existing GuestBook one. My apologies.

That is very interesting indeed... :o I have been unable to duplicate the problem which you have described... <_< I highly doubt that there is any code which would cause your page to not validate in XHTML 1.0 whether Strict or Transitional as opposed to my sites being XHTML 1.1 Strict compliant, but I guess anything is possible... Is it possible that there is some other issue with the page on which you are displaying the GuestBook...:?: Do you have a URL to the site in question so I can do some testing...:?:

Alex, any chance of moving the contents of this thread to the GuestBook thread...:?:

You are right. Problem was I tried to validate code as XHTML 1.1. I modified the markup language declaration to 1.0 and it did validate. So I've modified the declaration for the template. Yet, there are other pages where I've used snippets which don't validate either (btw, I'm still using the default template). I've also found a mistake in the default css stylesheet: cursor: hand ("hand" is not an acceptable value for the cursor property; I've change that to 'pointer' and stylesheet validated OK -don't know if I should let anyone know, other than you; don't know whether that's important). I'm confused about these markup validation problems.
Thanks, anyway.
