One of the original threads, here. (update: now moved to this forum)

This is a tremendously great modification that is useful on many levels:
  • separate content sections: use it to have individual right/left/middle content areas
  • client-friendly templates: set up press release templates with individual areas for header, subhead content and byline (with a default byline content) -- don't worry about clients messing up your HTML or template code
  • advanced CSS applications: use it to add a per-page ID on the body tags for section-specific styling of images or layout
John deserves major credit for this great Mod which will hopefully be part of the upcoming pre-.7 release. I certainly use it on every Etomized site I make.

Well apparently the original author of DocVars has moved on to other projects, but DocVars will live on in a future version of [DO NOT CIRCUMVENT THE WORD FILTER], and it's functionality will be expanded and cleaned up a bit.

aww, and i was just gonna gie DocVars a try for a multicolumn website i'm currently building. time to give [Etomite Fork] a look-see i guess.

[edit] whoa? i type in [DO NOT CIRCUMVENT THE WORD FILTER] and get [Etomite Fork]...

[edit2] okay... why is that thing which not to be named suddenly a bad word? ([DO NOT CIRCUMVENT THE WORD FILTER])

[edit3] ah wait.. now i remember that whole nonsense... nevermind!
