Another template that won't boost my reputation as a creative designer. This layout looks like the output of the phpinfo() function. It's table based and much is the same as the black-white template.

very nice, cool, simple and well styled templates. I really like it. But why tables not CSS? We are in 2005 not 1995.

Although CSS based templates seem to be the rage these days, even major sites are still using table based templates... Depending on development time restrictions there are times when tables are the best way to go... There's nothing worse that spending more time tweaking CSS to make a site compatible with the majority of browsers than the initial development to to begin with... Check the source code of the sites that you visit and you'll most likely find that there are more table based sites than CSS based... CSS is a development tool, not a development standard, and I'm sure this statement could be beaten to death by anyone who has been traumatized by tables... I use a mixture of both methods depending on development time constraints and task-specific needs... B)

I must agree with Ralph here. But if you take a look at my main site, you'll see I've passed the CSS tutorial with flying colours.

The two templates are made quite some time ago. I didn't bothered to change them, because I don't think that is worth the effort/time/RSI. I didn't felt like getting it to work for 'I don't know to upgrade' Win/IE5.x users or Geeky Opera users or 'design'-people using a Mac (with MS software haha), or clearing some silly default margin in firefox. Standards? My ass! (If there is someone who isn't offended by this, please PM me :P ) There's not much wrong with using tables, and if you're looking for a well designed template, then I think there's nothing wrong with them.

But let's not turn this into a CSS-table fight. If you're looking for such a discussion, then you can visit almost any websitedesign site. (and I'll be at sitepoint, whaha)

Glad you liked them. I had a serious doubt about 'publishing' them. Purple is not my color, but somewhat original. You must know that the people who painted everything purple didn't stop with the doors and pillars. The yearbook, numerous posters, information brochure and ultemately the car of our student association became purple. I was scared to death when I saw the phpinfo() colours. Can you imagine?

Yeah, for example I always try to do it table-less but sometimes it's very hard and I don't have the time.

Check this Forum software, it has some tables in the source code. But it is Xhtml.

This is a nice template design. Although I have contemplated using this CMS for a while, I did not know where it was going to go... now that it is back, I will see what this is about. I am glad to see it back. Thanks guys.

About the CSS only templates, it does seem to be the rage today, it is indeed difficult to tweak to make your pages look right. However, I did visit a web site that does give nice tutorials on CSS based layouts. I learned a lot, but as you say, CSS is not for everybody and for every design out there.

Keep up the good work. :)
