Hey Nutter, my xinha generates xhtml... Not sure why though
Mine does too, I'd prefer normal HTML.

Ahh, I see. I had it backwards. I prefer XHTML so I'm all happy.

I would give Xinha about 8/10. I find myself switching it on and off all the time though as it is slow downloading. I never use the image or links stuff but I take the point about other people loving those.

I paste URL's in and sketch out a pages text etc on it and it works great. But if I don't save the page first, then go back into it, if I try to change the url's once pasted the actual hyperlinks often get corrupted. After saving it I can change them on screen.

Plus the stylist menu is excellent. Cut and past notepad text, change formats and page done. I love it!

I also notice it's 5 all on the poll board so maybe I should have voted to keep it as an alternative - how can I change my vote?

I don't think you can change it - i will have to do it for you - what do you want it changing from and to?

I mistakenly marked "ditch" when I meant to mark "Don't ditch" back when this poll first went up :)

I do like XHINA! BUT, here's why.

1. I like the image and document linking features and so do my clients. They don't understand html or how to make a link or insert an img tag.

Personally, I don't care which editor Etomite chooses, BUT IT MUST include some sort of insert image, insert document, insert link, and possibly an insert etomite page link (by clicking on a list of existing Etomite pages would be nice). Sorry, had to throw in that feature request.

I noticed FCK and TinyMCE still do not include these options like XINHA does.

Thanks for asking!

My server is not the fastest and it takes Xinha more than 15 s to load. Version 2.2 of FCKeditor is quicker but the recently released version 2.3 is much quicker. It loads in only 3 s on my slow server even with a large toolbar!

I find that Xinha often displays tables, linebrakes and paragraphs differently than the real layout of the saved page. FCKeditor works better for me. I do like the ImageManager and file linker in Xinha though.

Using two mods that integrate Xinha's ImageManager and file linker with FCKeditor (I use 2.3) I get the best of two worlds (The mods can be found in the unofficial mods forum if anyone is interested). I have modified the editor's config file to set my own toolbar layout and I must say I'm finally quite happy with my editor setup!

I cast my vote for "leave Xinha as an alternative" though.

Xinha should be ditched IMHO. These SYN-floods are really unacceptable, and will probably ban people from there webhosts. They will probably blame Etomite for that. And it can be such a great editor though, it must dissapear for this behaviour.

And for all the people who are in love with their image manager: Here's a nice thing: This image manager is also forked to function as a plugin for TinyMCE or FCKEditor (although I prefer imanager/ibrowser from mmjaeger which also works like a charm.)

For me it's definately said:
XINHA must disappear.

Oh, btw: The reason FCK2.3 is loading this fast, is because of the fact that they put their complete toolbar in ONE image-file.
