2 Simple questions:
If i install EtoGalSrch and I used to call [[SearchForm]], I call [[EtoGalSrch]] now?
Is EtoGalSrch normal snippet, or I have to overwrite SearchPrompt ?

EtoGalSrch is a replacement for SearchResults not SearchForm (because I originally designed my sites with SearchPrompt on each page, and just a results page rather than a Search page; I added EtoGalSrch later.)
It does need a slightly modified SearchPrompt, too, as in this post - basically adding a checkbox for 'show images'.
You can put both the Searchprompt snippet (modified) and EtoGalSrch on the same page, but you need to change the message for no search string to "", or the error message appears when you first enter the page.

I think the last change I made to EtoGalSrch broke the ability to use both on the same page (it wasn't a design feature in the first place!

Rather than trying to fix it, I've added the form to the the snippet and corrected it. I'm not formally releasing it as a snippet yet, because it needs some more usability tweaks, but feel free to try the beta attached - though you'll almost certainly want to change the form layout code! demo at etoGalSrchForm test page

edit:
code removed; an updated version is available from the downloads section, and is used on the etogal test site.

it is beta, so it should (not) works; but is the original search engine (site content) working 100% well?

Sorry, not sure what you mean?

I expect the code to work, but its had minimal testing - it works on my site as indicated (with the mods that my site needs because my etoGal configuration isn't standard. If its not working, I'll try to help to get it working.

What do you mean by the 'the original search engine'?

original searchForm + you added some code to search etoGal and etoBlog

so if the "search site content" is workning well. But I think, it is.

I'll try. Thanks

Yes, thats right, plus I've also added some simple checks on the search string to avoid people trying to abuse it. It should find any page that the original SearchForm would have found.

I haven't deliberately tried to stop these, so you ought to be able to use them.

Don't use a long string for testing though!

:) glad to see its fixed ... does that include the accented characters too?

Its not possible to put the gallery name there at present, as the snippet only takes data from the etogal table to create the output. It would need to find the name of the gallery from somewhere.

Its one of the things I need to change for the next release, where that section will be coded in a similar way to etogalThumb, extracting a range of data from different tables, and making it easy to insert it wherever you want in the output. This may not make it for the next version though.
