Come on, someone must have a live example of etoGal by now, given all the support questions (and enhancement requests) in the old thread!

I am mulling over a use for it, just haven't had a need just yet.

Well it's hardly a stunning example of either a website or galleries, but I'm using EtoGal, EtoSearch and EtoThumb on my family web page here.
I'm in the middle of rebuilding the site, so there is only one gallery so far. The example of using Etothumb is on the 'One Less Child' page

I use EtoGal (Here).
Took me a while to get it working, but once working, I've had nothing but compliments from the club members. They are all demanding access, but they are not getting that yet
It's also a lot easier to upload the pictures etc. (Although I did increase the number of files to upload to 30.. just to make my life a little easier.)

I just finished my second site using EtoGal, and I must say it's a real dream to set up, and my clients seem to understand how to use it intuitively.
The only issues I've had are customization requests that go beyond my programming skills
Namely, the ability to upload a unique thumbnail for each image.

Thanks, cathode, nice site!
Can you flesh out the detail on that and add it to the EtoGal wishlist. (I'll forget it if it just gets left here.) I'm not likely to get round to looking at enhancements for a while (I have an exhibition late July and August that I need to prepare for, and I haven't started yet), but might think about it later.
(and if you need something for a commercial client, PM me.)

Didn't know whether to add this to my original post, or start a new one. I'm sure I'll get my wrist slapped if I get it wrong.
Now starting a new site for my own personal favourites D70Portfolio
Plan to use this site as my constant work in progress trying out all the features of EtoGal/Etomite (when I get a free moment or two)
One thing that would be nice (and probably not possible...yet) is the ability to display various settings for the shot (lens, focal length, f-stop, exposure) just as a reminder for me, and maybe a helpful insight to others.

In theory, all thats needed to get all that data, is:
work out how to at the EXIF info through the PHP library (should be possible)
work out what the D70 calls each of the fields you want (you'd expect this to be standardised wouldn't you!)
work out how not to fail if the library is old or non-existent
and then figure out which snippet you're going to rewrite to handle all this extra data.
I might look at it sometime, but I've never been terribly convinced of the usefulness of the information without a lot more information about the conditions at the time the photo was taken, and i've never bothered, whether with film (35mm, 120, or 5x4) or digital. At present i have two other priority tasks though:
I have to prepare prints for a real-world exhibition in August
I'll probably be trying to build a website on etomite + the EtoGal suite + other snippets to support an artists collective. (which includes me, so i don't get paid
So, not on my short term list, but if anyone else wants to try I'll offer advice! Its not something to try if you don't know PHP fairly well, though.
