I'd like to pay someone to write a snippet called GetSection or something similar. ("Section" being a global section of a website.)

It would simply just output the title, ID, longtitle, description, or alias of the topmost ancestor of any current page.

This snippet would display the name of the topmost ancestor on all pages down - three levels ought to do it, although it would be nicer if it were unlimited. Also, if the current page IS the section page, then it would still display the title.

Options: Output the title, ID, longtitle, description, or alias.

Please PM me if you're interested - or post if you need more clarification or know of a snippet that does this already. I'm no programmer, or I would have built this myself- but that also means that I am not knowlegable enough to modify another snippet to meet my needs.

Thanks :)

G'day,

So it seems you want a bit more than I gave you in the other thread.

Are you okay to change it to do what you need? Or would you like me to?

If you want mne to have a go at it, just let me know what you want the XHTML output from the snippet to look like and I'll have a go sometime soon.

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

Lloyd, I've learned long ago to accept what is given :) If you ever feel the urge to update the snippet, I'll definitely upgrady my copy, but... no complaints here :)

Okay, it's just that your post seemed to imply you might need something more.

If you do, just let me know the details and I'll see what I can do when time permits.

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

I've just added that snippet to the snippet library. See http://www.etomite.com/index.php?showtopic=4927
