I know this is something to go into the bugtracker but Alex doesn't have a MAC so i'm not sure how much use that is going to be.

I have a friend who will be using our Phase setup to administer a site and everything appears to be working ok (there is a JS popup when you go into create a new docuement saying that javacript:mozilla, 1.3 beta is not supported! I'll try, comma, though. and you have to press OK.).

THis is coming from HTMLarea I imagine.

Anyway of you press OK the HTMLarea does in fact work and then you can fill all the options in however the SAVE button doesn't work so you can't actually commit any work.

The cancel button next to it works ok?

Any ideas?

Anyone successfully rnning Phase and using it via Safari?

And of course I.E. on the MAC doesn't work with the phase manager at all.

I'm guessing that whatever browser you're using doesn't have the document.form.submit(); method. Are there any JavaScrpt error messages around after clicking the button?

I'm only going on what my friend is saying....however I will be able to test on Monday using Safari at work.

As far as I know there is no JS errors regarding the actual button. It apparently doesn't even highlight....funny thing is that the cancel button works fine.

Hopefully this can be fixed for 0.6

Might be the javascript that attaches the events to the SPANs that make the buttons is having trouble, but that's just my guess...

Just curious, is there a Mac emulator for PC to run MacOSX? I think the emus like Softmac can only support up to MacOS8. Or the alternative, is there a Safari version for MacOS 8? I'd like to test my sites under this browser also....

The problem with Mac emulators is you need;

- A Mac emulator
- A Mac ROM, which you can only legally own if you own a Mac (I don't doubt the internet is stuffed with them, though.)
- A copy of MacOS

:-x

Yep got all of those.....still aint going to fix Phase working with Safari though.

Surely this has to be something simple....it is the only problem I can see with phase and Safari and it is probably the biggest bug of all....not being able to save anything.

Fiscus, can you point your browser to:
http://webfx.eae.net/dhtml/coolbutton2/cb2.html

Please let me know if the buttons there work ok. If so, I may switch over to using WebFX's Cool Buttons.

@fiscus

What Emulator do you use for MacOSX? Is there a company website? Or is there a Safari version for MacOS 8 or lower?

Cheers,
Mac

There is no OS8 version...
Requirements for Safari 1.0:

* Mac OS X 10.2 or later
* Any Macintosh computer
Taken from http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
As far as i know here are the stats on OS8 browsers:
[list]
MS IE5.1
NS-Nav7.1
Opera 5.0
SeaMonkey1.2(Mozilla)
OmniWeb3.0
iCab2.0
AOL6.0
CyberDog2.0
TradeWave MacWeb2
Samba
MacLynx
[list]
Thats all the browsers I know of that run on OS8...

As far as I can see the buttons on that page don't work with Safari. The buttons in the current Phase seem to work OK it is just the save button. I think as snuff suggested I imagine it is more of a coding glitch (incompatability) that Safari is having problems with.

Safari, that's KHTML or something isn't it?
Are there any Windows based KHTML browsers?

Yeah, fiscus had pointed that one out too. Problem is, I'd need an image of a Mac bios and an OSX disc, both of which I don't have. An das you all know, I am a law-abiding citizen, and I don't use, or condose the use of, illegal software. :sneaky:

Ahem. Right, there's also the following to consider:
How many people use Mac? 2% (according to the stats for cookiebean.com, only 1,2% of the visitors are mac users), lets be generous, and say it's 5%. Of those people, how many will use Safari? I don't know, I certainly don't see any hits for Safari in my (top 10) stats logs. Basically, Mac users are stuck with using Mozilla... :|

According to your stats, Etomite should therefore work fine in 86,5% of the browsers your visitors use (IE, Moz, and apparantly it works in Opera too). Not too bad, methinks.

I know it's not nice, but I don't want to spend ages trying to get it to work with a browser I don't have access too... :huh:
