G'day,

I'm looking to use one of the text editors on a client's web site. After reading through some of the posts I decided to start with FCKEditor. (The client will also be using SugarCRM which uses FCKEditor.)

I see the ready-to-go with Etomite download available here is for FCKEditor v2.2. The current version of FCKEditor is v2.3.1.

So I'm wondering if anyone has already got FCKEditor v2.3.1 working with Etomite.

By the way Dean, it would probably be useful to indicate which versions of FCKEditor and Xinha are available in the downloads area, i.e. FCKEditor 2.2 instead of just FredCK Editor.

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

I use FCKeditor 2.3.1 on several sites without any problems. I can really reccomend version 2.3+ because it loads much faster than the 2.2 and it is now by far the fastest loading editor among "the big ones".

To integrate version 2.3.1 with etomite, I just followed Pelleke's guide. Well almost, I use adapted versions of Xinha's ImageManager and InsertFile plugins instead of FCKeditor's built in filemanager because it doesn't have image editing functions and also require you to create extra folders in your assets directory if you want to use the file manager. Because of this, I can not verify if the ibrowser works with version 2.3 or not but I think Pelleke got at least the newest version of ibrowser to work with version 2.3.

G'day,

Attached is FCKEditor v2.3.1 with the changes made for Etomite 0.6.1 Prelude, just as I have installed it.

It seems to be running okay.

Best Regards, Lloyd Borrett.

Works great in FireFox 1.5.0.6 too. Using an old versions of Firefox (1.5.0.0) the buttons could sometimes hang when you click on another tab and then return to the editor. This however happend with the 2.2 version too.
