Hi!

Ich bin gerade dabei Etomite auf meinem all-inkl Webspace zu installieren.
(At the moment I want to install etmoite on my all-inkl webspace.)

Ich habe die Datenbank eingerichtet, die Rechte auf 666 umgestellt usw. Steht auch überall ok.
(I installed the database, setted the rights on 666. Everything was showed as 'OK')

Jetzt gibt mir etomite folgende Fehlermeldung aus.
(Now etomite gives me this failure)

Quote

Etomite setup will now attempt to setup the database:

Creating connection to the database:OK!
Selecting database `etomite`: Failed... - database does not exist. Will attempt to create:
Creating database `etomite`:

Es geht nicht weiter und ich hab keine Ahnung was ich falsch gemacht habe.
(It doesen't work anymore and I am wondering what I have done wrong)

Danke im Voraus für eure Hilfe! :)
(Thanks for your help!)

Did you create your database first, and you database user? then did you assign the database the rights for that user?

No, I created the database after uploading the files and starting the setup.

Should I remove the files and upload them again?

I doubt that the problem has anythig to do with the files... Either the correct database exists or it doesn't... If checking to assure that the etomite database actually exists using a utility such as phpMyAdmin shows that it does in fact exist then I would be making sure that you are entering the correct settings during the installation... Some hosting services don't allow users to attach to any database other than the one supplied with the account meaning that etomite would not be accessible... In addition, some hosts do not allow the use of localhost for the MySQL hosting server...

I'll note here again, just for the sake of re-iteration, whether it pertains to this install or not, that some server configurations do not allow PHP scripts to create databases - they must be created manually...

Please supply us with the specifics for your hosting server, such as server operating system, server software, PHP release, MySQL release, etc...

I don't know, if I understood everything you said.

I don't have to create a database "etomite". ?!
I only have to crate a database and set it in when installing etomite?!

You need to add a database (call it whatever you want)
You need to add a database user (call it whoever you want)
You need to add the database user to the database

Then in the installer, enter *those* details into it.

Message me some login details, and I will take a look.

mySQL Username & DB Name
FTP Location, Username and Password
WWW Location

I'll be online on my livehelp on my website for next half hour if you want to give me the details there rather than store them here.... (scroll to bottom of page)

I installed this for Hurz - it installed first time, so I can only assume that he had put the database name in the prefix field by accident :)
