I have taken my first attempt and made it into a module based on the blogger module by Ralph.
This is only version 1 so please your comments are greatly appreciated. Follow the instructions in the install.txt file.

Where does this script store or send the information after a site visitor signs up to the mailing list?
I completed the following in the script and I am not receiving emails when someone signs up.
I do receive a message that says "You have been successfully added to our mailinglist.".
///////////////// EDIT here $body = "subscribe MyWebSite Mailing List ".$email." (".$name2.", ".$name1.")"; ///////////////// Stop EDIT MORE CODE HERE ///////////////// EDIT here $SendMail .= "<input type='hidden' name='to' value='admin@MyWebSite.com'>"; $SendMail .= "<input type='hidden' name='Subscription To MyWebSite Mailing List' value='subscribe <yourlistname>'>"; ///////////////// Stop EDIT
Am I doing something wrong here or should I be adding more information somewhere.
Any help with this problem by anyone would be appreciated.

I installed the snippets using the install.php file, but whenever I create a page calling the [!newsletter_control!] snippet, I only get the Newsletter Subscription header, but no form or no Control Panel options.
Someone else had suggested this already, but it would be very useful if the developer were to include a mini explanation text in order to get this snippet to work and operate. The included install.txt file is useful to, well, install it, but there is little mention as to how it is supposed to work.
Maybe I'm asking for too much. I would even be glad to work a mini-instruction manual if I someone assist me to get to work.

Hi. I can't get it to work either. I just get the basic header message, and this is independent of me being signed in or not. Anybody who can help?
Hey guys I'm sorry I've been very busy.. I'm not really supporting this anymore.. since it is from an old version of eto.. but I'll see if I can have a look..
