I'm not sure where to ask this but I'm using xinha so we'll start here...
I like xinha because of the css options it has, and we don't have to guess as to what the page will render like, with one exception, the background color. I have my template set up like this:
<div class="content">[*content*]</div>
I gave 'content' a background color that matches the background color from the layout in hopes that the xinha would show that but it does not work. The dynamic css panel on the right has the background color but the area where the actual content is is still white. I've tried making changes to the wysiwyg, htmlarea, and skin css files but can't find where to change this.
I encountered this before and worked around it by adding a table with a background color in the editor but I'd prefer to keep this specific site clean.
thanks,
for what it's worth I absolutely love etomite and am in the process of moving as many sites as I can to it.
my compliments
editor background color

The new URL to the Xinha Website has changed recently... I haven't played with using CSS in Xinha all that much, even though I have tweaked the Etomite integration code a bit, so I can't be of all that much help... I generally end up diving into the documentation for answers to WYSIWYG editor questions and then hit the support forums... As I recall, the old Xinha support forum left a lot to be desired... Maybe the new one will be better...
Thanks for the kind words regarding Etomite... I'm glad you are finding it to your liking...

Found a usefull patch here: http://xinha.webfactional.com/ticket/614
which sets the htmlarea background color from white to transparent. works perfectly for my uses - I'm now looking at a green editor window.

Also, xinha.css in the assets/site folder takes care of it

yes, it looks like a css file dedicated to the stylist is a better way to do it, esp. since ie can't interpret 'transparent'. I was just trying to avoid changing multiple stylsheets when layout changes are made in the future.
thanks
