Before you troubleshoot the css, first validate the document. you may fix the problem in the process.

The site looks nice, by the way!

I'd have to agree with Cathode, you need to get the markup to validate before being concerned with CSS issues... That's the short answer...

What you are experiencing is evidence that IE is not a strict as real browsers when it comes to non-compliant code... Where more standards complaint browsers, like Firefox, Opera, etc., attempt to render markup as closely to the DOM as possible, IE just gives up and throws the code at the user... While some people may see this as a good thing, this practice does little to entice developers to write DOM standards compliant code... Just because Microsoft doesn't believe in standards doesn't mean that developers shouldn't... That's the WHY behind the short answer...

By the way, it would be nice (and fair) to leave a link back to etomite.com on every rendered page. I see you removed the Etomite notive from the code. To get support from the Etomite community, you have to have a link back...

as seen in the orginal template, http://www.etomite.hesper.pl/Andreas02.html
i dont think the .css file is the matter of the problem,
my problem is the validation with the xhtml standard,as the validation site has mentioned before,
any ideas how to solve this issue ?is the problem in the webserver setting and not in the template code?
thanks .
etomite code will be added as soon as the webpage ist finished:)

Where is this mime-type issue coming from...??? Why not take our advice and just make the existing code validate and go from there...???

i got other problems,
the validation indicates that the embedded flash movie represents awrong command ,althought i used the integrated flashmovie option in the etomite interface, strange ya?
"there is no attribute "src".
anther simple question ,how to get the complete php code for my site ,that i can simply update it all together, instead of searching for the each code manually?
is a correct validation achievable with my moderate knowledge ?,thanx

Pull the flash bit out until you get the rest of the page to validate... There are times when compounded errors tend to hide the real errors so take a step or two back and get things validated before tackling the embedded flash... Why anyone would want to use flash is beyond me, but to each his own... There are alternative methods for embedding flash which you can investigate once the template itself is stable... And to answer your final question, yes, anyone can write valid code with a little practice and it's well worth the effort...

Of course the problem is in your CSS - validating just allows you to eliminate other possible complications while you work on fixing your CSS.

It is a known fact that Microsoft is off the mark when it comes to the DOM Box Model so that's where you need to look as that is most likely where you will find the problem to be... The problem revolves around how IE uses a non-standard method (here we go with the standards thing again) of calculating box model object sizes like width, height, borders, margins, and padding... There are countless articles published on the internet that address these issues, as well as providing solutions, so rather than attempting to explain it all here I'll just suggest that you do some personal investigation into the topic... Good luck...
