Edit Document 1, change the template that it uses, then save the document.

Unfortunately, I have no idea why it's not working... I have 0% experience of IIS.

IIS is Windows hosting :)

Made by Microsoft.

So how exactly are you hosting it? Is it on your own computer?

I think it is noted somewhere, but don't ask where, that IIS has a problem with getting the automatic configuration settings right... You need to go back into your Etomite configuration and assure that all server paths, whether relative or absolute, are correct... IIS installs have a bad habit of leaving some settings blank... Not sure if Dean remembered to check those or not which is why I made mention here...

Also, was this a new install or an upgrade...???

Yeah I'm getting the same problem sadly. Damn you IIS. I'd rather get my problem fixed rather than having to convert over to a linux server tho...

Is it possible to successfully run Etomite on an IIS server?

Hey guys,

I have installed etomite on an IIS server and I'm getting a few problems.

This is the error I am recieving:

<h3 style="color: red;">« Error »</h3> Etomite encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource: « Row count error in template query result. » SQL: SELECT * FROM `db1130306_cap`.etomite_site_templates WHERE `db1130306_cap`.etomite_site_templates.id = '';
[Copy SQL to ClipBoard] Parser timing MySQL: 0.0231 s s(3 Requests) PHP: 0.0072 s s Total: 0.0303 s s

Is this a common error on IIS servers? I can get into the manager okay, but whenever I try to view a page, I recieve this error. What is it describing? What does this problem mean?

Also, when I try to view the 'Manage Files' Section, it seems like a can't make a connection. However, if I add say, "/templates" to the end of the file path address, the file manager directs straight to templates. Could this possibly be a permission issue? On say the root folder?

If anyone can shed any light at all on this subject, it would be much apprieciated.

Thanks Guys.

Did you clear the site cache after logging into the manager?

Yes, some people do use etomite on IIS servers, they are a minority of users though.

Did you verify and save your Etomite configuration settings the first time you logged into the manager...??? Many people get too excited and start bouncing around rather than taking the time to complete this important final step of the installation process...

Etomite can run fine on IIS 5/6 with PHP 4/5 and MySql 4/5.

I think, as listed, in the above reply you haven't got the setup right.
But I think it's a permission issue.

When using IIS you should try and give full access to the "IUSR_<YOURSERVERNAME>" account, so It can browse, read and even execute.
Just make sure you've got the directory / folder browsing set to OFF and you're good.

(The "IUSR_<YOURSERVERNAME>" account is the anonymous guest account for connecting to your sites.)

So if you set the correct permission (FULL CONTROL) for this user on the ROOT of your Etomite Installation (make sure you include all sub-folders) you should be done.

IIS uses this account to show and access the websites.

When you done setting the correct permissions, you should access your manager and save your configuration again, just to make sure it's saved correctly.

I hope this will help you.
If you need more info just ask ;)
