Hi everyone.
I am not very familiar with Etomite, but found it some time ago and bookmarked it. Today, I am finally in need of a quality, open-source CMS that will fit my needs. I am wondering if that CMS could be Etomite, so to find out, I am compiling a list of what I need as the CMS complete features aren't listed on the website. Please, if you know about this CMS, tell me if this CMS will be suitable for my needs.
I want to ideally use this CMS for my e-commerce website, and I need to be able to...
* Create users and different user groups with different permissions (permissions can be totally customizable?)
* Create categories and subcategories.
* Create content pages in categories and subcategories.
* Search-Engine Friendly URLs (can be manually inputted such as if I want thisname.html or this-name.html page).
* Edit meta tags throughout the site and its pages..including main page
* Control over page templates
* Assign some user groups to be able to add content to specific categories as well as some usergroups to be able to add, edit, delete, and ban users.
(I want to have the ability to create usergroups for the back-end of Etomite. I want some of these usergroups to be able to add content and other usergroups not to. I do want some usergroups to be able to administer other users/usergroups as well [excluding admin] - is this possible?)
Thank you in advance for your replies!
Is Etomite the right CMS for me?

Etomite can do all of that well except the back-end user groups stuff which can be a bit clunky. However, I think when you see how well it can do all the other stuff, you will forgive the Etomite CMS for it's few shortfalls.

Just like you, I went on the search for the best CMS about three years ago, and landed here.
Like Cris says the user permissions are the hardest to learn, but once you do it, you'll have it. There is a good tutorial on this site that helps you.
There's no plug and play ecommerce module for Etomite. Unless you're using simple paypal buttons, people use some other Open Source package to handle their store.
