Hi,

I've notice the following error when I click on the "manage files" menu option.

PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 01ABB32DOptions

Not sure what it means or how to fix it?

Alan

Have you set the path on your etomite configuration page?

Hi,

If you would like to see the spec of the server I'm working on, click on the following
link http://www.crossakiel.com/test.php (this will show you the complete Windows server
configuration).

I've logged back into the Admin screen, clicked on the "Etomite Configuration" option and all I
see there is "server offset time, server type, language".

Am I looking in the wrong screen?

Alan

PS. My browser is Firefox

Hi Sticks,

Yes and No: Screen is OK, Tab is wrong ;)

Look at the "Tabs", there are several.
Look at the "Miscellaneous settings" Tab.

Please fill in the correct path of your Etomite installation in "File Manager Path"

This should do the trick.

[Edit]:

You should have full read/write access to use the file manager to it's fullest.

[/edit]

Good luck.

Hi,

The only tab that is available is "site settings" (unless I'm looking in the wrong area.

I've uploaded two images for you to have a look. One of them shows the php error.

Regards

Alan

Hmm, there is something wrong here.

Please check you permission settings.
I think there off.

You should see something like this:

They say a picture paints a thousand words!!

The preview option is not working either!

As I'm new to Etomite, can you tell me where I can check my permission settings??

I've looked at the permissions option and I am the administrator (if it's the one on the left hand menu your referring to).

I also have this error (see pic) which might have something to do with it.

Thanks

Permissions as in IIS permissions, not inside Etomite.

I don't have control over that as I am using website from my ISP so they control
everything.

I'm pretty sure that I have full access to the webspace as I can write files to it without any problems.

Update: I've deleted the system and started again from scratch. It's now re-installed and
shows the full permission screen. I'll keep you posted of any errors.

Update: Well it didn't take long before the config screen disappeared (it was there and now it's
gone back to "site settings" one tab only, so I don't know what's going on and why it's
disappearing??

Update: I've just noticed that when I clicked on the "view system info" menu option it just sits there doing nothing and that is when things started to go funny?

It's not even showing the files in "manage files" now, but everything started going wrong after I click on the "view system info" menu option?

I think you do have some control over file permissions in IIS... The problem may not be that you don't have enough permissions set but too many... You should be able to make adjustments using FTP...

Alan,

Please provide some more info, like Ralph asked.

Server Operating System
Apache or IIS Version
PHP Version
MySQL Version

We need to have the info, before we can look close at what's going on here.

I'm not sure you are using IIS, and before we can advice you what to do best, we need this info.

The behavior of your Etomite installation is not standard, believe me.

Maybe you could even give one of us access to your server, so we can look close up, and see shat is going on.

I hope we can find a solution for you.

I've included a doc file with all the relevant server information that you should need.

I'll pm the user details etc so you can have access to the site.

I've received the PM, and looked at it, but I can't see or do more then you in the browser,

But I've found some things that makes me suspicious about the file permissions set.

When I try to 'remove locks' I get:

Quote

Scripting error:
One or more errors occurred during the execution of this file.
This might prevent the page from working correctly.
URL:
/cms/manager/index.php?a=1&f=5
Message: Toegang geweigerd.
Line: 119
Please report this in the Etomite Bug tracker.

This isn't a bug, It works on my installation.

So there's something wrong, and the 'toegang geweigerd' says access denied, so there's a permission problem.

Do you have access on file level ?

You have to check if, from the root of the Etomite installation, down to all folders IUSER_<SERVERNAME> should have full access.

and try to update to PHP 4.4.8 as it it more stable as 4.4.2. has some minor problems.
I'm not sure that's causing the problems you are currently have, but you never know ;)

I have two stable versions running under PHP 4.4.4. and PHP 5.2.5. both under IIS 6.0.
So what you are doing should be possible, and I'm sure we'll get it working.

And just to make sure, this isn't a problem in Etomite itself, it's is a server related problem.

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the reply.

I've forwarded your comments to my ISP for them to have a look and see what
might be causing the problem.

They've asked me about permissions but I think your last post answered this
question.

I'll keep you posted.

Update: I've switched over from PHP V4 to PHP V5 thanks to my ISP and as
soon as I logged back in, the system sorted itself out (the "view Info" also
works now).

Excellent, now on with learning how to use the program!!

Thanks for all your help.

Sticks

So is was a PHP problem after all.

I know if works under 4.4.4, so the 4.4.2. might be the problem

Problem is solved?

It's good to hear, you've got it running now.

In case you need further help, just yell! ;)
