Hello,
I'm a newcomer to Etomite having used phpWebsite to build a number of CMS websites. I love the idea of being able to build a layout in HTML and then drop it into a new template. Much easier than doing the same in phpWS.
My query is, having trolled through the documentation and forums, is there a way to upload images using a "browse images" type function to select and upload? Tell me if I'm wrong but it appears you have to FTP upload an image first onto the webserver and then provide the URL. Have I missed something as this seems rather clunky?
Also, CMS like phpWebsite seem to have calendar, photo gallery, bulletin boards, etc, etc modules already integrated. Does Etomite provide these modules, and if not, what are the recommended methodes for integrating these, particularly a photo gallery.
Thanks in anticipation. Love what your doing. :betterwink:

Glad to hear that you are enjoying Etomite...
As for your questions... You can use Etomite Manager > Administration > Manage Files to upload images, or you can use the Insert/Modify Image button within the HTMLArea document editor... Either way will allow you to browse your local machine for images to be uploaded...
As for the module question, Etomite is not a "Turn-Key" CMS like the ones you are used to using... As you have stated, that is part of the beauty of Etomite... Snippets ( called modules in other CMS's) are created by developers for use by other Etomite developers... Due to the varying needs of developers, Etomite will most likely refrain from having the modules you have listed incorporated into the core package... If you check the Completed Snippets (0.6) forum you will find a Calendar snippet which I have written, at least one Photo Gallery snippet, several Blog snippets, a GuestBook, and a wealth of other handy utilities... Also, if you would like to integrate an existing program, such as a Bulletin Board, you can do so using the Wrapper snippet... I have tested Wrapper with several programs, including YaBB SE, and they have run flawlessly so far...
The open structure and powerful programming capabilities are the features which have drawn me, as well as many others, to make the switch to Etomite... Once you have worked with the package for a while, I'm sure you will agree.. I too have tried many other CMS's in the past, and I'm not looking back... :betterwink:

Thanks very much for the info. I was using TinyMCE which threw a spanner in the works. I'm now up and running. As for the snippets tip, let the fun begin!
Thanks again. This could be very interesting.
