Hi! I hope someone can help me. I have set up other cms in the past but Etomite seems to be different. I don't know much about mysql.

- I made the Chmod changes and uploaded the files.
- I went to the intall page
- I set my sql database from control panel. (I created a database called etomite and a user name called brin from the cpanel).

But etomite still can't find it or write to it.

Database name: sitelogin_etomite
Table_prefix: etomite_ ---------------------- This might be my problem, I don't know

Database host: localhost ------------------------ is this correct?
Database login name: sitelogin_brin
database password: ******

------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is what etomite installer says:

Etomite setup will now attempt to setup the database:

Creating connection to the database: OK!
Selecting database `sitelogin_etomite`: Failed... - database does not exist. Will attempt to create:
Creating database `sitelogin_etomite`:

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then it gets stuck on that screen and doesn't do anything?

Any help or hints in the right direction would be helpful.

Please supply us with additional information so we can better assist you in resolving this issue... The following information, complete with version/release will be of great help... If the issue is browser-specific also include browsers tested and the results of each...

Etomite Version
Server Operating System
Apache, IIS, Other (including version info)
PHP Version
MySQL Version

It sounds like the installer isn't finding the database that you created... Either that or you haven't assigned a MySQL User to that MySQL Database...

Did you add the user to the database?

yeah I did add a user after I created the database.

What does table_prefix mean? When I created the database in Control panel they didn't ask me to set a name for the table_prefix. Can that be the problem? Is there a default table_prefix i can use?

I really loved the etomite demo and I would love nothing more then to install it so I can play with it. I hated Joomla and typo3 they weren't my style. So any help in getting etomite setup would be awesome!

If you want to PM me some login details, I'll try and install it for you...

The prefix won't stop it installing..

I'm having the same problem as brin. I created a database named etomite, assigned a user to it, and it still wont find my database.

When you assigned the user to the database, did you assign the correct privileges?

Are you remembering to add the domain accounts prefix to both the database name and username...??? I've been known to make that mistake a time or two myself... When I see the error it becomes one of those "DOH...!!!" moments...
