I'm moving mySQL onto it's own server at some point today; so expect a little bit of downtime whilst the transfer takes place.

Done; the next step will to be move the http part of the site into the same datacentre as the mysql server.

Resolved for now :D

I was surprised to see a IPS error on the forum, now I know why :)

Good to see things up and running again! :D

Just in case any one was wondering why they got the DB errors earlier, for some reason we got 600 simultaneous connections that caused the mySQL database sessions table to crash, and took down the mySQL server with it. I've repaired the tables an optimized them now...

Keeping an eye on it :)

Ok, well I've decided today is going to be the day for the big re-structure.

Luckily, I won't have to worry about double-posts etc if someone does post whilst I do it all (as the mysql is already transferred).

There will be a little downtime though, and I can't estimate how long it'll be (or at what time).

I apologise for the delay, I've been really busy, so not able to transfer the site into the same datacentre as the mysql server (as some are noticing a site lag).. it's on my list of things to do tonight.

Good luck with it, I do hope things are going well

Maybe you are working on it right now, as I experience a drop down in speed, but it still works! :)

I'm going to be taking both mysql and www traffic offline sometime within the next couple of hours to perform a 1st backup onto my machine here.

mySQL Backup has completed ... www up next :D

Over the next few hours, you may experience some "quirkiness"; I'm going to be performing some maintenance to iron out the bugs since the migration - then perform the backup.

Once it's all complete, I'll post about the changes I've made; and how they benefit the Etomite CMS :D

I've only got one more issue to iron out, and that's with the bugtracker - somethings gone screwy :/
