We are proud to announce that Etomite Prelude v1.0 is now available for download... In an effort to keep support issues for this release separate from older releases, and to assure accurate and timely support, we would appreciate adherance to the following guidelines...
Backup - Although the current code base has been thoroughly tested on both Linux and Windows based servers with new installations and upgrades, there is always a chance that something could go wrong... Hopefully, at the time you are reading this it isn't already too late to make backups... Backing up the database is always a good idea before applying patches...
Config - The configuration file, manager/includes/config.inc.php, has changed... When you upload to the server your existing config file will be over-written if this is an upgrade unless you explicitly tell your FTP client to not upload that file...
Upgrading - Regardless of whether you are performing a new installation or an upgrade, you must run the installer... While some older releases of Etomite did not have this requirement, v1.0 does require that the installer to be run so that you can read what needs to be done as well as providing a link to the database patch routine...
README - Before uploading the code base to the server, or immediately after, please read the README file in the root directory... Between the README file and the installer, most installation questions should be answered...
Reporting Bugs - Please make use of the Bug Tracker for reporting bugs... It isn't enough to ask for help here in this forum, you also need to report the bug in the Bug Tracker so it can be resolved in the code base... That way we can post patched files, if required, and can provide a bug free copy for future downloads...
Support Topics - Please be as concise as possible in describing any problem you have encountered... Your problem may or may not merit being reported in the Bug Tracker... When in doubt, wait for the support staff to refer you to the Bug Tracker... It's also very important that all 1.0 issues are posted in the correct place, here
Download - Download the files from here
The contents of this message are subject to change without notice... It never hurts to check back once in a while to see if any criteria have changed... The Etomite support staff hope that all your installations and upgrades go smoothly, but if they don't we will be here to assist you to the best of our abilties...
Good luck, and enjoy...
The Etomite Support Staff
