Been using Etogal since fall 2006, no problems until now. I suspect an upgrade to PHP 5.2.5 - but since I only vaguely understand what I'm doing I'm not at all sure about that  It's just that this was the only change I'm aware of and the problem was discovered shortly after.

PHPinfo page.
From what I can check I'm using the latest Etogal files.

It seems that images are uploaded, but nothing is inserted in the DB, nor are thumbnails created.

Anything I should check?

Jim

PHP 5.2.5 itself probably isn't the problem, as mike finley photography uses it with a modified version of etogal which retains much of the original etogal admin code.

Check that the new configuration hasn't had the maximum memory or execution time reduced. (I'd expect an error report from PHP for either of these but etogal doesn't (can't, as far as I know) trap these). If PHP aborts through either of these, it could have the effect of loading the initial file but not updating the database or creating the thumbnail.

If you're not the person doing the uploading, check that the user hasn't bought a new digital camera, and uploaded a 10Mpixel file ...

Could be something. Yesterday I did see an out of memory message in the log, in retrospect probably from the other person uploading. Today I try and an image is added, but now it's morning where I live and probably in the middle of the night for the server and most of its users, so it isn't doing that much and needs less time to complete my request.

I'll check with the host.
