I'm really intrigued... Why are all the search bots turning up in the actve userts list at the bottom of the forums here? Something changed with IPB? the robots.txt? something else? It's just that it was never there before, but now it is and I'm wondering if it is by choice; by design; or by default?

Those bots are the ones that put us in the search engine databases so we show at or near the top of the lists for most Etomite related searches... The more things change, the more often they spider the site...

I updated the list of bots against ip's / data - so now it's correctly identifying bots instead of just showing them as a normal guest ;)

Yeah, it usually lists more.... there can be a couple of rows of search engines at some times.
