There seems to be a long standing issue with apostrophes in titles:

I have to have these as some of my titles are the names of published books and articles and can't be changed. So I just went into the database and stuck them in directly. As far as I can tell this works fine everywhere in my site, no problems. In the manager, I can still click on the page name in the tree menu (which doesn't work with '). The only thing I can't do, apparently, is edit the page anymore because of the validation check in the editor.

I am just curious what the issue is here since the only limitation seems to be in the manager at this point and it is self imposed.
