Fatal error
: Call to undefined function imagecreatefromjpeg() in /www/.../index.php(508) : eval()'d code on line 105

just wondering if this error means that GD support isn't enabled?

probably!

Its a problem I had back in the early days of etogal when I first configured a local web server for testing, and from memory (never very trustworthy these days!) it was that or a very similar call. Etogal does require the GD library.

I've already requested that GD be enabled and mod_rewrite be installed... small town server admin ...

Hi there,

I'm very new to Etomite and EtoGal and have managed to get our new site running but am struggling to get the EtoGal code working.

I've downloaded the etogal version 1.1 beta 3, created the snippet and called it from a page within the site [[EtoGal]] but can't seem to get it to work.
I have created a assets/galleries directory, ensured the permissions are correct and even put an image in there for a test.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Many thanks,
Mike

Have you read the documentation section here?
Do you have the authentication snippet installed?
Have you logged in from the gallery page on the site, not the manager, and uploaded images through the admin function?

just copying images into the gallery folder is of no use - etogal won't see them.

1. Yep, read the documentation.
2. Yep, Authentication snippet is installed on the same page as [[EtoGal]] as a test (as per documentation) - thats appears on the screen
3. This is my problem; to create a gallery page on the site do I just need to place the [[EtoGal]] code?

Cheers,

Quick Update:
I'm now getting a Manage Pictures button but when clicked nothing happens.

See below.
Cheers again.

Have you tried using [!EtoGal!] instead of [[EtoGal]] to bypass snippet caching...???

Yes, the snippet contains both the management code and the display code.
The other snippets add further flexibility in how the images can be used and displayed, but aren't essential (except for the authentication one).

As Ralph says, you must have the page or snippet non-cached.

Brilliant!

Looks like i'm off and running, thanks for all your help!

New club site looks good and with the addition of the image gallery should make it even better.

Cheers,
Mike
