The reason I'm asking what PHP versions people have running on ther server(s) is to help decide which minimum target version of PHP future releases should conform to... With my current development server running a somewhat old PHP 5.1.2, because I can't seem to get 5.3.0 to show up other than in command line mode, I'm not sure if PHP 4.x support is worth having or not...

I'd really like to be able to use input filtering but that requires PHP 5.2.0 minimum... There are other nice feature that require PHP 5.3.0, but it's unrealistic to code a release that would require such a bleeding edge version...

Knowing the range of versions being used would be very helpful...

I think php5 has gained great acceptance and php4 seems very old now. (Not that I ever have anything to do with server set ups, except the usual control panel stuff and an option to run scripts over php4 if I want to.)

I didn't know there was a php6 (shows what I know) and I am just off to google it now.

Paul.

edit: I knew there was a reason. I am one of the (from this article) '"app from a box” install base' users, an amateur coder, that has found php to be fabulously accessible. All the OO stuff always seems just out of my comprehension. I just dont get it :-)
