I'm using the Etomite CMS and trying to get the friendly URL's going by using the rewrite rules in .htaccess. My questions is this: is the Apache mod_rewrite installed on Dreamhost accounts by default, and does it run/work with PHP running as CGI?

Yes, it works out the box on DH
