When creating websites, how many of you create a mobile/wap version of the site?

I have been trying to. It is actually quite hard because of image size problems. I don't think I have it right yet in any way.

Are you considering adding the facility to etomite to more easily manage the process? If so that would be wonderful.

Paul.

I'm currently *playing* with creating mobile sites... mainly for iphone/ipad at the moment (as I've got a 3gs), but it looks ok on my nokia e71 too.

I'm looking to develop a slimmed down "manager" developed for phones etc - would anyone be interested in it?
The slimmed manager will work on WAP, iPhone and iPad (I've already got a WAP phone, and a 3GS to test on). So far, the code I've got is very rough, but I'm persisting at it. Don't get me wrong, the slimmed down manager is in no way going to be a replacement for the current etomite manager.

Could you tell us a little bit more about the idea behind it? I am certainly interested in it, and would just like to know a little bit more about what you were thinking.

To start with, the end user well able to edit/create/delete Etomite pages via their mobile phone.
The phone manager will be a very basicly html-styled version of the manager (without frames etc), as virtually all mobile phones support it (I've tested it on my Nokia Series 60 Device already).

I have two different lines of thinking to try an achieve it.
1. A separate folder
2. Via Etomite

It's very rough round the edges at the moment - I'm exploring the benefits of each way of achieving it (so far, I'm preferring the 1st option as I can choose where to upload it to etc) I've managed to create a test interface so far that writes, edits and creates data within the database from the mobile already.

Things are very much in the draft & testing idea stage - any input is welcome!

Well I never used to create the mobile version but now many of our users are asking for one hence searching around trying to find out how to make the site mobile friendly or have a re-direct script that takes the user to a mobile version of the site if they login from their cell phones.
