Thanks for your help please look at southlondonbowlingclub.co.uk i have to change the contacts and fixture dates i have been opening the page on edit and can change info but the line spacing keeps comming up incorrect on the fixture page the sizes changes when i save some of the text goes large! do i have to create a new page ie in word or publisher and save to the site if so how does one do it thanks
To be honest, preparing content in Word, or any other word processor for that matter, and then copying ind pasting it into your Etomite WYSIWYG editor, may be part of the problem... I never transfer word processor content into Etomite without first stripping all formatting and then reformatting using the WYSIWYG editor... Word processor formatting tags are just too unpredictable... I always copy and paste any text into Windows Notepad or a Linux text editor, which strips all formatting, leaving only the raw text, and then re-copy the text and paste the stripped text into my Etomite WYSIWYG editor... I've found that it takes far less time to use this method than to make repeated attempts at formatting, reformatting, and chasing down problematic formatting codes...
But even if this isn't the case, you still need to pay close attention to your content to make sure it is formatted the way you intend it to appear on the finished page... This is especially true if you are using styles other than what are being displayed within your WYSIWYG editor...
Hope this helps...

If you need help updating your page I will do it for you for free, but I can only help if you allow me to add a link to Etomite in your footer.
The offer stands, PM me if you would like some help.
Paul.

Paul thanks for your reply : this site has been running for about 4/5 years i believe. may i put a couple of questions to you 1. you say that i should have a link to etomite in our footer is support foc or do they charge. 2. the NTL address goes too our secretary but he has never complained about his mail 3. the updating of the pages i have been doing for the last 3 years i have to change the contacts page every year as well as the fixture and results page and update weekly where neccasary. I have full admin to the site but i am having issues with spacing etc on the page. hope this makes sense i would like to resolve this if can by adding a link does this compromise the site regards Jim
1. Only a suggestion, I have no links to etomite, only a user and supporter of it.
2. ok, if it is working then fine. Usually email scrapers take these emails and add them to junk mail listings, but if his spam filter is working well enough then there is not a problem.
3. Spacing is an issue with complex tables from excel or word. I would follow the advice given by ralph earlier. Spacing is always a pain especially as IE7 and IE8 have some bugs so that it doesn't conform to web standards. There are simple fixes and work arounds although I think your issues are about how the editor is interpreting your pasted code. Just keep fiddling and it will turn out all right in the end.
Hope this helps,
Paul.
