Dears, I am desperate :-D

How shall I transfer the etomite pages from previous IT supplier (with different hosting) to my new hosting plan? The guy told me he backed up the whole web version, but now only one of the languages is working and he says it should be the mistake in settings... I can't edit the website now or even apply analytics and he's just not helping me...

If you could, please see differences:
www.kolibajavornik.cz - the original version of the website (is online, but at different servers)

I only have access to virtual server:
http://www.kolibajav...23.active24.cz/ - where you can see easily that only Czech version is working :-(((

See the error notice when trying to go to English (for example):
ORIGINAL:http://www.kolibajav...-in-prague.html
NEW (virtual): http://www.kolibajav...ve24.cz/en.html

Are there any settings in etomite I shall change with going to other host? Or is there a way (in case that guy backed up only one language version) how I could download the whole database from the etomite administrator access? I am totally afraid to just change nameservers, because in case my backup is not complete, the website would crash with low chance for recovery...

Thank you SO MUCH for any help... :-)

Did you update the config file when you transferred it over with the new database settings?

Yep... Edit your manager/includes/config.inc.php file and see if that gets you going...

um... generally I tried not to change quite anything... I generally had the whole website downloaded in the packed file - and uploaded into the www directory at the new hosting... I hoped neither database name nor table prefixes nor anything else would have to be changed........? I thought, why the URL suffix changes at the virtual server, but I'm not able to simulate the website at any other workspace...

thank you very much, it's my father restaurant's website, he knows literally nothing on IT and things are not going too well now (crisis)... I just want to make sure I won't do any mistake, it just would be a great stress for him...

Well did they give you the database too? If not, you need to get that. It's not only the www directory you need.
You then need to upload the database through your hosting control panel and then change the config files.

It looks like my last answer wasn't saved :-(
Anyway: I had the whole database backed up and tried to upload it into the www directory (instruction of the new host). Unfortunately, I don't have the possibility to simulate, whether it's complete or not (have tried to ask my friend, who's web admin).

I have to try harder it seems :-)

Thank you Dean, thank you Ralph!

Ok, the DB doesnt's go into the www folder; you need to contact your host to upload it.
Then you need to update the db login details within the config file to the ones your host gives you.
